Nokia’s Mapping Service, “Here” Coming to iOS

Nokia has announced that it is releasing its mapping service for iOS. This mapping service will be called “Here.” It will be available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

According to the company, this mapping app will be built on the HTML5 and will come with so many nice features. Here is a location based cloud mapping service that aims to provide best mapping experience on multiple screen devices. It will offer offline maps, voice guided walk, public transport direction and many more. This app will be soon available on Apple’s iTunes store.

Company also planned to launch this mapping service, Here on its own platform that runs on Windows Phone operating system. Nokia also added that soon it will release the app for Android and Firefox’s mobile os.

“People want great maps, and with HERE we can bring together Nokia’s location offering to deliver people a better way to explore, discover and share their world,” said Nokia President and CEO Stephen Elop. “Additionally, with HERE we can extend our 20 years of location expertise to new devices and operating systems that reach beyond Nokia. As a result, we believe that more people benefit from and contribute to our leading mapping and location service.”

To make Here maps better in 3D, Nokia has planned acquisition of Berkeley.
