Google has updated the search feature of Gmail which is now improved to do few more complicated searches. Now it can read the attachment to match the search queries. It can search inside PDF documents and Doc files in the attachment of emails.

“The good news is that Gmail has finally added support for searching inside attachments. I’ve just tested this feature for .pdf files, .doc documents, .ppt presentations and it works, even though some old attachments may not be indexed yet,” Gmail announced in a blog post.

“The good news is that Gmail has finally added support for searching inside attachments. I’ve just tested this feature for .pdf files, .doc documents, .ppt presentations and it works, even though some old attachments may not be indexed yet,” it added.

This feature is not surprising but it came too late in Gmail. Google has advanced OCR technology which has already been added in most of its services.

These new search capabilities are already available so you can now find easily what you want. In case, you forget the name of attachment, you can find it by the content of the file.
