LG Optimus Vu launched in India for Rs 34,500

LG has launched its phone cum tablet, LG Optimus Vu in India via its official website. This smartphone is available for Rs. 34,500 and is ready to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note II in India. LG Optimus Vu was initially unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2012 in February and was released in Korea.

LG Optimus Vu features a 5 inch capacitive touch screen with 1024×768 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM. It comes with 32 GB Internal storage. It features a 8 megapixel camera along with a 1.3 megapixel front camera. It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

“The different form factor makes Optimus Vu: unique even in the 5-inch smartphone category which we expect will catch on once they become more widely available,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Other features includes 3G (HSPA+21 Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, DLNA, NFC, aGPS and a 2080 mAh battery.

LG also announced that it has sold more than 500,000 units of the the Optimus Vu since the handset’s debut in Korea back in march.
