Hong Kong based Eken Electronics has launched few Android tablets in Indian market. These tablets are launched under the Leopard brand and price between Rs. 6,900 – Rs. 11,999.
These tablets come with various screen size including 7 inch, 8 inch and 9.7 inch display. All tablets come with front camera for video calling and HD video playback. For connectivity, it feature Wi-Fi and 3G dongle. All these models come with 8 GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 Gb via microSD card.
“India is an exploding market with huge potential for cost-effective tablets. This factor influenced us to launch quality budget tablets in India,” Edison Chang, CEO EKEN Electronics said.
For distribution, Eken Electronics has also tied up with Kerala based company Aldous Glare Trade & Exports. Company also expected to sell more than 10,000 units by the end of this year.
India is a big market for smartphones and tablets where low-cost Android devices has seen good growth. So most of the electronics companies are trying to capture Indian tablet market. Currently, Micromax and Karbonn are the ruling Low cost tablet market in India with their nice ICS tablets. Funbook Pro, Funbook Talk, Funbook infinity and Karbonn Smart Tab 2 are the best-selling low-cost tablets in India.
