Sony Xperia Tipo, that was announced in June this year is now up for pre-order via online retailer flipkart. Flipkart has added this smartphone for the price of Rs. 9499. It is expected to ship after the second week of September.

Sony Xperia Tipo is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It features a 3.2 inche screen with 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

It features 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera which is also capable of VGA video recording. It also comes with 512 MB RAM and 2.9 GB internal memory from which 2.5 GB is user accessible. Internal memory can be expanded upto 32 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity features of Sony Xperia tipo includes 3G (HSDA 7.2Mbps HSUPA 5.76Mbps), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA and aGPS.

It is packed with a 1500 mAh battery which is expected to give 5 hours talktime on 2G network and 4 hours of talk time on 3G network. Standby time on 2G network is 470 hours and in 3G network, it is 545 hours.
