Google has finally shut down the mobile we app version of Google talk. If we could remember, Google had already announced this few months back as a summer clean processes.

Google Axes iGoogle, Google Video & other services

One of the Google representative has noted on Support page, “We are shutting down the mobile web app for Google Talk. For mobile users who want to continue using Google Talk, we recommend using the native Google Talk app on Android or any XMPP-compliant apps on iOS or other mobile platforms.”

Google Talk is not available as a standalone app for iOS and few other platforms. Now these users will have to use some other instant messaging tools that also supports Google Talk. Some popular chat services are Nimbuzz, Fring, IM+, Talk.to and more.

Now Google suggest users to use some other alternates. Company is also planning to bring some more products to enhance chat features.

We can also expect the dedicated Google Talk app for all the major mobile platforms. But we are not sure. So we can only wait and watch.
