Apple had showcased its Apple Maps app when it revealed its latest operating system, iOS6. Now iOS 6 is available to download on various iOS devices and hence Apple Maps is also available. Apple has also blocked Google Maps app on iOS 6 to force users to use Apple Maps. But Apple Maps is a big disaster for the company.
Users around the globe, are complaining about this maps app issue. It lacks many useful information and can not stand in front of Google Map in a single feature. Most of the location tagging show wrong data. Location and path does not contain the correct location data. If you will use it as a map for your journey, you will surely lost in the city.
There is one more issue with this Apple maps. When any use shares it location, it redirects to Google Maps on desktop, Android and on non-iOS6 devices which does not support iOS6. The reason behind this issue is that Apple Maps does not have any hub. When a user on iOS6 shares his location, the shared URL shows maps.apple.com but clicking on this link opens the location in Google Maps.
Apple also knows how big trouble it is for the company. So it is in hurry to release the update for the app. For making it better, it is also hiring people having experience in mapping apps. According to Techcrunch, Apple is also running after Google Maps Staff and trying to recruit persons having experience in working with Google Maps Team.
Although, it will help company to make a more reliable mapping app, but it is not an easy task to locate each and every location on the map. For this company must take time.
Users are also searching for the alternate map app and missing those days when they had Google Maps in this device for their help.
