Samsung Unveils Windows Phone 8 Devices, “Odyssey” and “Marco”

Smartphone maker Samsung is set to be the first to launch smartphones running on Windows Phone 8 operating system. It has unveiled two Windows Phone 8 devices which will be released after the release of Windows Phone 8.

These new Windows Phone 8 devices are codenamed “Odyssey” and “Marco.” These smartphone are revealed in the documents submitted by Samsung in court as part of Apple vs Samsung lawsuit.

Both smartphones will run on dual-core 1.5GHz processor and Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset.

Samsung Odyssey will feature a 4.65-inch HD sAMOLED touchscreen display. It will also come with 8 megapixel camera on the back, and a 2 megapixel camera on the front.

Samsung Macro will feature 4-inch WVGA sAMOLED display, 5 megapixel back camera and 2 megapixel front camera.

Both smartphones will come with advance connectivity features including LTE and HSPA+ 21Mbps connectivity.

If we believe on these documents, these smartphones will appear in the last quarter of 2012. We can expect these smartphones with the launch of Windows Phone 8 operating system.

Samsung is the leading Android smartphone manufacturer which helps company to beat Nokia. Now Samsung wants to capture Windows Phone market. We also know that Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system will come with many nice features. So Samsung wants to be the first to come with Windows Phone 8 smartphones.
