Popular photo sharing app, Instagram has released a new update which lacks Twitter integration. Previous versions of the app has a feature which allowed users to find their Twitter friends. But Twitter has blocked API access to Instagram which forced Instagram to remove this feature in the recent version of the app.
When a user tries to use this feature, it shows an error message on the devices saying, ““Twitter no longer allows its users to access this information in Instagram via the Twitter API. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
As reported by Cnet, a spokesperson from Twitter told them, “We understand that there’s great value associated with Twitter’s follow graph data, and we can confirm that it is no longer available within Instagram.”
It seems that only find friends feature has been blocked and users can still use Instagram’s Tweet photo feature to share this photos with Twitter followers.
Twitter had also made a similar kind of move with Twitter last month and users can no longer publish their tweets on LinkedIn. It is really a strange behavior and it’s not clear why Twitter has moved to this way.
