Airtyme Launches Android Phone for Rs. 6,999

Airtyme has launched its first Android smartphone in India. This first Android smartphone is called AirTyme Picasso DG50 which runs on Android 2.3 operating system. It is a dial SIM phone and comes with 512 MB RAM. The phone named Picasso, after the famous painter.

“Like its artist namesake, we built the Picasso to cater to the genius and the creative spark in all of us,” said Gaurav Narang, AirTyme’s director of operations in a press release.

“Today’s consumers want a phone that is both feature-rich and easy to use. They can’t help but be delighted when they open the box and see its fine finish and beautiful lines. When they power it on, they’ll be dazzled by its beautiful 3.5″ (8.89 cms) capacitive touch screen and artistic motifs. And when they explore its features, we hope they will see why we chose the slogan ‘Ingenuity Meets Passion’ to build the pan-India marketing campaign for this new, unique product,” Narang added.

This smartphone features a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display with 320 X 480 pixel resolution. It has a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash at the back of the device along with a VGA front camera at front for video calls.

Internal memory of the phone is expandable upto 32 GB and other features of the phone includes GPS, 3G, Bluetooth. It is packed with a 1450 mAH battery which performs well.

This smartphone comes in two colors, Smoky Grey and Garnet. It is now available from online retailers homeshop18 and infibeam for Rs.6999.
