Sony announces Xperia go and Xperia acro S, water-resistant smartphones

Today, Sony has announced two new smartphones Xperia go and Xperia acro S in its Xperia series. Both smartphones are waterproof and dust-resistant.

Sony Xperia Go is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) mobile operating system. This device features a 3.5 inch Reality display which also features Scratch resistant mineral glass. It also has a 5 megapixel camera. The device is upgradeable to Android 4.0.

Sony Xperia Acro S will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor. This device features a 12 mega pixel camera with Full 1080p HD video recording and 720p HD front camera. It has a 4.3-inch 720p HD Reality Display. Sony Xperia acro S will be Sony’s first smartphone to come pre-loaded with Android 4.0. This device will be available in black, white and pink colours.

Both devices are expected to hit the market globally in the third quarter this year.
