Gmail iOS App Gets Update, Added Support for Notification Center

Yesterday, Google has updated its Gmail App for iOS devices. Now the app supports Apple operating system’s Notification Center.

Now iOS users can receive Gmail message notifications on the banner, lock screen and through alerts. These notifications are now five times faster than in the previous version.

“Gmail is now fully integrated with Notification Center and supports banners, alerts and lock screen options. Plus, notifications are now incredibly fast — up to 5x faster than in the previous version,” Jason Parachoniak, Software Engineer posted in official gmail blog.

This new app also allows users to use alternate email address to send emails. If you have configures alternate email address in Gmail desktop to send email, you can now use that email address within the app.

Now users can stay logged in into the app as long as they wish. This app has improved the login process. You can choose to sign out of your account, but you won’t be automatically logged out.
