Apple launches MacBook Pro with Retina display at Rs 1,52,900 onwards

Yesterday, At WWDC 2012, Apple has launched its all new 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and quad core processor.

“With a gorgeous Retina display, all flash architecture and a radically thin and light design, the new MacBook Pro is the most advanced Mac we have ever built,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

This new 15 inch MacBook Pro is packed with a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. This system will cost Rs.152,900.

Another version with a a 2.6 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz, 8GB of memory and 512GB of flash storage starts at Rs 192,900.

Main attraction of this launch is the Retina Display which was launched few months back in iPad. This new technology is said to be the world’s highest resolution notebook display with over 5 million pixels, 3 million more than an HD television. The Retina display uses IPS technology for a 178-degree wide viewing angle, and has 75 per cent less reflection and 29 per cent higher contrast than the previous generation.

It is also packed with a powerful battery which is expected to give battery life of more than 7 hours.
