Finally, Google Chrome Overtakes Internet Explorer

According to data by StatCounter, Google Chrome is now officially most used web browser of the world. Report says that usage of Google Chrome were more than Internet Explorer for entire last week. Before last week, Chrome only managed to be more popular in weekends.

Internet Explorer lost two percentage points in last four weeks which helped Google Chrome browser to gain the top position.

Microsoft got the top position in early nineties from Netscape. Then it got a good fight from Firefox. But Internet Explorer managed to be on top. Chrome came only four years ago but saw a good growth and managed to overtake Firefox soon. For past few months, Google Chorme managed to go on top only for weekends. But Last broght some good news for Chrome.

Chrome’s victory is even more significant when you consider that IE’s market share is for all versions combined, IE 6, IE 7, IE 8 and IE 9. Althogh report consider all chrome versions, but most of users are running latest chrome version due to chrome’s autmatic update.
