Microsoft has finally announced Microsoft Office suite for Nokia Symbian Belle devices. This app pack contains Word, Excel and PowerPoint and called Microsoft Apps 2.0 which is approx 50 MB in size. This Office productivity app suite will be immediately downloadable and used on eight Symbian Belle update running devices as of now.
Office Apps came on Symbian after a long gap of 2 years because Microsof had announced to bring its Office apps suite for the Symbian platform back in 2009.
The Office apps for Symbian Belle devices allow users to open the documents back from Office 2003 and higher. But users can any create and edit documents editing created in Office 2007 and Office 2010.
After installing the Microsoft Office apps, a typical Symbian Belle mobile will have two different Office productivity app suites- QuickOffice and Microsoft Office.
New Microsoft Office apps are currently available for the following Symbian Belle devices – Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 603, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia Oro. Nokia has promised to bring the support for Microsoft Office apps on Nokia N8, Nokia 500 and Nokia E6 very soon.
Download the base installer of the Microsoft Apps from (Ovi Store) which will prompt you to download a bigger 50MB update later.
