BranchOut, most of us have seen it on Facebook. It is a professional network for Facebook which was launched two years back. Now it has reached to 25 million registered users mark and makes itself LinkedIn’s biggest competitor.

BranchOut allow users to see which of their Facebook friends work at which company. So users do not need to create their network as in LinkedIn. The interface of the app is similar to the LinkedIn where users can fill in their work histories, send messages to their connections, collect endorsements and request introductions to friends of friends.

BranchOut has more than 13 million monthly unique visitors and said to be 31st most popular app on Facebook.

BranchOut launched its mobile app few months back in November 2011 which has now 45% of total visits.

Although 25 million users are not enough to compete with LinkedIn’s 150 million but Facebook has more than 850 million Facebook users who are joining BranchOut daily. On Thursday, BranchOut announced a $25 million round of funding, bringing its total venture capital backing to $49 million.
