BlackBerry Curve 9220RIM has just announced the launch of BlackBerry Curve 9220 in India. This handset is now available in all leading retail stores for Rs10,990.

This handset comes with latest BlackBerry OS 7. It has a QWERTY keypad for easier typing. It features 2.4-inch VGA”>QVGA display with screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and also features a 2 megapixel camera. Its internal memory can be expanded upto 32 GB via microSD card.
It also features FM radio, WiFi connectivity, 3G, Bluetooth.

RIM is also offering free apps worth Rs 2,500 which can be downloaded from BlackBerry App World till 30th June.

Krishnadeep Baruah, director-marketing for RIM, said that the launch of the new smartphone was the most important day in the history of BlackBerry in India. Carlo Chiarello, executive vice president, Smartphone Division said that India was the first market to get access to the product globally. “India is a very important market for RIM and we are extremely proud and excited to officially unveil and launch the new BlackBerry Curve 9220 for the first time here in India,” he said.
