Wikipedia App For Android Gets Update, Added Better Tablet Interface And More

Wikipedia, largest online encyclopedia has just pushed an update to its Android client. This application received a better interface for tablet with some older bug fixes and new improved features.

The main noticeable feature is addition of a quick search bar to the app which allow users to search more fast. This app now supports offline reading with save to SD card support. Users can now save important articles on the SD card for further offline reading.

Now the app also a Full Text Search and “Did You Mean?” type correction for searched keyword. After the app version 1.1, users will be able to open Wikipedia URLs from any application using this Android client.

This new Wikipedia 1.1 is available to download for free via Google Play. It supports all the Android devices running on Android 2.2 and up.
