This is really a Good new for Google which is trying to make Google Chrome as popular as it can. According to the report of StatCounter, Google Chrome has crossed Internet Explorer for the first time to become the most popular web browser only for a day.

The day was March 18 when Google Chrome just crossed the Internet Explorer. But Internet explorer quickly regained its position again and became most popular web browser.

These data are collected by StatCounter, which is based on 15 billion page views per month (4 billion in the U.S.), covering 3 million websites.

The graph of browsers popularity created by StatCounter is surprising and shows some strange results. It shows that Google Chrome browser is used more in weekends. Whenever Google Chrome rises, Internet explorer goes down. It happens only in weekends. Usage of these two browsers is almost the mirror opposite. Other big browsers — Firefox, Safari and Opera — have relatively consistent usage.
