facebook hackingFacebook which asks request users to enter their valid name and identity, will start allowing users to verifiy their account and then use a pseudonym instead of the real name. All verified accounts will get more prominent place in the list of suggestion in the list of Facebook’s “People To Subscribe To”.

Users with many subscribers will get a notification to verify their identity. These users will be prompted to submit an image of a government-issued photo ID, which will be deleted after verification. After the verification, these users will be given an option to enter an “alternate name” that can be used to find them through search and that can be displayed next to their real name in parentheses.

Facebook also said that they will not show any type of verified badge on the profile as Google+ and Twitter shows. But Facebook will take care so that no fake account get verification.

For example, Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, could use Verified Accounts to verify that she is the famous Stefani Germanotta, to display her name as “Stefani Germanotta (Lady Gaga)”, or display it as simply “Lady Gaga” with Stefani Germanotta appearing the About page of her profile.
Facebook will manually approve all these alternative names to avoid any mistake like Twitter did in the Wendi Murdoch fiasco.

After this verification update, users will get a chance to get in touch with their stars with the name they know.
