Facebook Adds 12 New Media Apps to Timeline

Facebook has announced 12 more time line apps. These are the media apps which are the platforms to find and share best content.

Facebook has announced that news apps has driven a good traffic and increased engagement with visitors. Facebook wrote,”As media organizations build new timeline apps, initial results show significant increases in traffic and engagement, while allowing media sites to reach new – often younger – demographics.”

These are the new apps:

  • Buzzfeed
  • CBS Local: Los Angeles and New York
  • CMT
  • The Daily Show
  • GetGlue
  • Huffington Post
  • Mashable
  • MSNBC.com
  • MTV News
  • Pixable
  • Sporting News (launching in March)
  • TODAY Show

Facebook also announced the success of some existing apps with traffic data. Facebook said that Yahoo News has seen 25 million people opt into Social Bar and the app has 2 million daily users. The Guardian‘s app has been installed 5 million times, with 50% of users ages 24 and under. Digg Social Reader has driven a 35% increase in readership.
