Toshiba announces the world’s thinnest tablet – Toshiba Excite

At CES 2012, Toshiba has introduced its new 10 inch Android tablet which is said to be the world’s thinnest tablet. This tablet is known as Toshiba Excite and has thickness only of 7.7 mm.

This tablet is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core TI OMAP4 processor with 1 GB of RAM and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. It also features a 5 MP camrea at the back and a 2 MP camera at the front. Its storage capacity can be expanded upto 64 GB via microSD card. It also has a good set of input and output ports including micro-SD, Micro USB, Micro HDMI and, of course an audio jack. The Excite also has a physical volume button.

Currently, only launch dates for the U.S have been made available and the tablet has been priced at $529 (approx Rs. 27,936) for the 16GB model and $599 (approx Rs.31,635) for the 32GB model.
