Wikipedia has launched official app for Android smartphones.

wikipedia android appJust only one day after the SOPA black out protest by Wikipedia, Android Market gets official wikipedia client. This app will enalbe users to access all the articles of this world’s largets free encyclopedia on their Android smartphone.

“Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia containing more than 20 million articles in 280 languages, and is the most comprehensive and widely used reference work humans have ever compiled,” the app’s description reads.

This app also offers users to save the article for offline reading. User can also share wikipedia articles with friends with social media sharing. Full screen search is also available in the app.

This Android application supports all the device running on Android 2.2 or higher.
