Google search app for Android smartphones gets update. The new Google Search app is meant for handsets running Android 2.3 Gingerbread or lower versions. This new update emphasis on the speed of search, smoother performance and a simple user interface. This new update brings a new color scheme to the app similar to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The app also includes search suggestions while typing for a query. Google has also added country-specific search suggestions. It has also added feature like long press to remove history items.
Here are some additional tips:

  • Tap the arrow to the right of a search suggestion or history item to add it to your search term before searching.
  • Get suggestions from other apps on your phone – check out searchable items in Search settings.
  • Long press on home screen to add the Google Search widget, if you don’t have it already, to access search faster.
