Google starts new presentation editors in docs

Google has updated its presentation app in Google docs with some advanced next generation features. All Google’s app has gotten the updates recent days but this was waiting for this kind of updates.



“A year and a half ago, we released completely new document, spreadsheet and drawing editors. Google Docs has been picking up speed ever since with more than 60 new features and millions of new users. Today we’re rounding out the suite by previewing a new version of presentations with faster collaboration and more features,” Steven Saviano, Software Engineer at Google, wrote.
The new editors enable real time collaboration, every edit, every change is almost instantly see by all working on a document or, in this case, a presentation.


In this update more than 50 features have been added to the new presentation which includes these:

  • Transitions to move between slides with simple fades or spicier 3D effects
  • Animations to add emphasis or to make your slides more playful
  • New themes to create beautiful presentations with distinct visual styles
  • Drawings to build new designs, layouts, and flowcharts within a presentation
  • Rich tables with merged cells and more options for adding style to your data



The new editor is now available for everyone, but you have to opt-in to use it. The old editor is still available for use. Google is not going to shut down it in upcoming days.
