Although it is still at top position but now the market share is down and is getting a tough competition from some other big cell phone companies. Company is trying its best in getting back in getting back again in this one of the largest market but not getting good success.

  1.  Unavailability of Android is the main reason for losing market share. Now a day Indian Market is full of Android smart phones and Indian customers are also showing good interest in Android Smartphone.
  2. In India, now there are many cell phone companies which are selling smart phones having all good features at cheaper price. So customers are turning to those cheaper companies leaving big brands. The main thing about those cheaper smart phones is that all are running on Android. So customers are blindly buying those sets on the name of Android
  3.  Apple and blackberry, the 2 smart phone giants are also now in India market. This has created a good and tough competition in cell phone market.
  4.  Now users have better features in lesser price which is not available in Nokia. Although Nokia has launched so many cheap handsets but all are Symbian. If users have option to get android smart phones in the similar cost, then why they would go for Nokia.
  5.   Service providers are also comes up with cheaper handsets with discounts and data plans free. In Indian market, offer always wins. And all other companies have partnered with mobile subscribers for this type of offers. Nokia has nothing to give.
Nokia has partnered with Microsoft for launching new series of smart phones. But Android is ruling the Indian market. Android sets are available in low cost. And in Indian market cost is the leading factor. If Nokia wants to get back on the feet in India again, it should try to launch some cheap smart phones which can fight with Android.
