Few months back, Twitter has announced Https connection to its website for user security and privacy. Now it has announced https support to twitter embedable buttons used by third party websites to tweet or follow.
“Today we are pleased to announce SSL support for our Tweet and Follow Button widgets,” Twitter announced in a post.
“That means that now you can add these widgets to your secure https pages, enabling users to easily share your content and follow your accounts without leaving your site,” it explained.

If you had already added the code to your website, you do not need to change the code. Code is the same for the button.
If you don’t have the button, use the following code.
<script type="text/javascript" src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"></script>
