Apple tries to block 4 samsung devices in U.S.

The legal battle between Apple and Samsung is getting worse now. Apple today filed a preliminary injunction against Samsung (with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California), seeking to keep four of the Samsung’s latest mobile devices out of the U.S.
The motion targets the following four Samsung products: Infuse 4G, Galaxy S 4G, Droid Charge, and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Apple asserts the following four intellectual property rights — three design patents and one utility patent:
U.S. Design Patent No. D618,677 on an “electronic device”
U.S. Design Patent No. D593,087 on an “electronic device”
U.S. Design Patent No. D504,889 on an “electronic device”
U.S. Patent No. 7,469,381 on “list scrolling and document translation, scaling, and rotation on a touch-screen display”

Apple said “A preliminary injunction is necessary not only to protect Apple’s rights, but also to protect the public interest. It reserves the right to seek a preliminary injunction against those two products as their release becomes imminent.”

Samsug replied to this issue,”Samsung believes there is no legal basis for this motion. We will continue to serve our customers, and sales of Samsung products will proceed as usual. Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communication business.”
