Facebook is the biggest display ad player to overtake Google and Yahoo.

Facebook is now going to cross a milestone again and this will really a great shock to google, yahoo and other companies which are at good positions in display ads. There are some reports which show that Facebook has crossed all the previous records and also overcome google and yahoo.
The social network is estimated to book $2.19 billion in ad revenue in the U.S. this year. while google is on $1.15 billion a 10 percent drop from previous year and yahoo is on $1.62 billion.  It means Facebook is gonna rule in the display ads too.
Facebook has done a lots of efforts on attracting advertisers on the website, this is the ain reason of this growth in ad income.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company, which is closing in on 700 million registered users, has recently reached a point of maturity in its advertising ecosystem, which has largely been fueled by a host of third-party companies plugging into its advertising software. It has certified 22 companies, such as Kenshoo, Adparlor and Blinq, to sell Facebook advertising to agencies and marketers, and while there are definite exceptions, most of the advertisers fall into the smaller-business range.
Advertising on Facebook “serves a different purpose than advertising on a place like Yahoo where you can buy a takeover of the home page or a channel sponsorship,” said Joanna O’Connell, a senior analyst at Forrester Research.
