New Chrome Beta Adds Voice Commands

Soon you will be able to browse the web and control your web browser with your voice. Google has launched the new beta version of Google chrome that brings the support for Web Search API.

Web Search API is a javascript api that allows web developers to integrate speech recognition into their web application. Although, it has voice search support for some time but with this more robust dictation support, it will be very useful.

Google has also demonstrated how you can compose emails just by using your voice. After testing out the feature, i could only say “Amazing.” You can also say the video here. You need to upgrade your web browser to this beta version before you are going to watch the demo. It will not work on the older version of Chrome browser

Along with this voice recognition support, Google chrome also brings better support for HTML5 and date time inputs.

As I already pointed out that the API is Javascript based, it will also be available on Google Chrome for Android and iOS.
