Acer has pushed gaming monitor refresh rates into another league with the Predator XB253Q U1, a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor capable of running at 1,000Hz.
The monitor is part of a larger display lineup Acer unveiled at IFA 2026. The new range includes high-resolution OLED monitors, 5K Mini LED displays and several models that can switch between high resolution and much higher refresh rates.
But the Predator XB253Q U1 is clearly the highlight of the announcement. Acer is targeting hardcore gamers and esports players who want the fastest possible response from their display.
The Predator XB253Q U1 uses a 24.5-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1,000Hz refresh rate. Acer has also included its VRB Pro technology, which is designed to reduce motion blur and ghosting. The monitor has a claimed response time of 0.3ms with VRB Pro and supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible.
It also comes with VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification and Acer’s Circular Polarizer technology, which is designed to reduce glare during long gaming sessions.
The monitor has two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 2.1 connection. It also offers a 90% DCI-P3 color gamut and 99% sRGB coverage.
A 1,000Hz refresh rate will not make every game suddenly look better, of course. To take advantage of it, games need to produce extremely high frame rates. That makes this monitor far more relevant to competitive esports than cinematic AAA games.
The 1,000Hz model is not the only interesting display in Acer’s new lineup.
The Predator X32 V3 is aimed at gamers who care more about image quality. It features a 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with a 180Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time and 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Acer is using a five-layer QD-OLED Penta Tandem design to improve brightness and panel efficiency.
For gamers who want both high resolution and speed, the Predator XB273K V7 offers 4K at 160Hz and can switch to Full HD at 500Hz using Acer’s Dynamic Frequency and Resolution technology.
The same idea appears across the Nitro range.
The Nitro XV275X P combines 5K resolution with 2304-zone Mini LED backlighting and can switch from 5K at 165Hz to QHD at 330Hz. It also supports HDR 1400.
The curved Nitro XZ340CKR P takes a different approach with a 34-inch ultrawide display offering 5120 x 2160 resolution at 180Hz. Its DFR mode can push the refresh rate to 360Hz at a lower resolution.
Acer is also introducing the Nitro XV275U Z2 and Nitro XV270U Z3, both of which offer three display modes. The XV275U Z2 can run QHD at 275Hz, Full HD at 360Hz or HD at 520Hz. The XV270U Z3 offers the same three resolution and refresh-rate combinations, although HDMI support varies by mode.
Acer’s new display lineup is not limited to gaming. The ProDesigner PE270X P is a 27-inch professional monitor with a 5K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. It uses 2304-zone Mini LED backlighting and supports VESA DisplayHDR 1400.
It also targets color-sensitive workflows with 99% coverage of Adobe RGB, DCI-P3 and sRGB, along with factory-calibrated Delta E<1 color accuracy.
The monitor includes USB-C with 90W power delivery and an Auto KVM switch, making it suitable for users who move between multiple systems.
The Predator XB253Q U1 will launch in North America in the first quarter of 2027 for $1,099.99. It will cost from €1,099 in Europe, with availability also planned for China.
The other monitors will arrive from the fourth quarter of 2026 through the first quarter of 2027, depending on the model and region.
