Samsung unveils 1,100Hz Odyssey G6 gaming monitor

Odyssey G6

Samsung has unveiled its new Odyssey G6 gaming monitor at Gamescom 2026. The 27-inch monitor is designed for competitive gaming and comes with an incredible 1,100Hz refresh rate.

Samsung had previously teased the Odyssey G6 with a 1,040Hz refresh rate in December. The final version goes even further with a 1,100Hz refresh rate at 1080p resolution.

The monitor also supports a dual-mode display, which allows users to switch to native 1440p resolution while still getting a 600Hz refresh rate. This gives gamers the option to prioritize resolution or refresh rate depending on the game. The monitor also has a 1ms response time.

The 1,100Hz refresh rate is mainly aimed at competitive gamers who play titles at extremely high frame rates. At this level, however, users need a gaming PC capable of actually producing very high frame rates to take full advantage of the monitor.

Samsung has not yet revealed the full pricing details for the Odyssey G6. The company says the monitor will be available globally by the end of 2026.

With the new Odyssey G6, Samsung is pushing gaming monitor refresh rates well beyond the 500Hz and 600Hz displays that have already started reaching the market. While 1,100Hz will be difficult for most gamers to fully utilize, it could appeal to esports players looking for every possible advantage from their display.
