Reliance Jio has launched a new Jio OTT Pass in India. It brings OTT apps, live TV, and mobile data into one add-on pack with 28-day validity.
Jio says the total value of the bundled services is around Rs. 1,500 per month, while the pass costs only Rs. 200. On paper, it looks like a strong deal. But in real use, the value will depend on how many of these services people actually watch or use regularly.
The Jio OTT Pass is priced at Rs. 200 for 28 days. It is available through the MyJio app, Jio website, retail stores, and other recharge platforms. One important point is that it only works as an add-on. Users must already have an active Jio base plan to activate it.
The pass includes access to 15 OTT platforms. This includes JioHotstar Mobile with Hollywood content and Prime Video Mobile Edition. Along with that, 12 more platforms are available through JioTV, such as Sony LIV, ZEE5, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, Sun NXT, FanCode, Hoichoi, Chaupal, Planet Marathi, and others. YouTube Premium is also part of the bundle.
Along with OTT content, users also get access to more than 1,000 live TV channels on JioTV. These include entertainment, sports, movies, kids’ content, regional channels, and infotainment from major broadcasters like Sony, Sun TV Network, Warner Bros. Discovery, and others.
The pass includes 30GB of high-speed 4G/5G data. Eligible users also get unlimited 5G data, but it works only within the active base plan and during the 28-day cycle. Voice calling is not included, so users still need a separate base plan for calls and SMS.
Now let’s see if the OTT pass has any real value. YouTube Premium, JioHotstar, and Prime Video Mobile Edition are the notable inclusions that most people use. Even if you combine the subscription pricing of these three services, it would easily add beyond Rs. 400 in real value. This clearly shows that the pass is already value for money even if you only consider the top 2 or 3 widely used services. Everything else in the bundle, like Sony LIV, ZEE5, Discovery+, regional OTT apps, and live TV channels, effectively becomes an extra benefit on top.
For users who already watch content across multiple platforms, this pass can feel like a strong deal because it reduces separate subscriptions. The core value is already justified by the most popular services alone.
