YouTube Unveils ‘Pause’ feature for comments: Take Charge of Your Video Comments

YouTube

YouTube has introduced a new feature called “Pause” to help creators manage comments more effectively. This feature allows video creators to temporarily stop new comments from being posted while still keeping the existing ones. It gives creators greater control over their comment sections.

YouTube already had an option for creators to hold comments for reviews before publishing them. However, not all people have time to read all the comments daily and publish relevant comments. Suppose you are going for a week-long trip and see thousands of comments to review when you are back.

Now creators can pause comments for a short time if they do not want to complete the turn off the comments option. This option will give them more flexibility over managing comments and take a break from managing comments.

Creators can access the feature in the video-level comment settings. It is located in the upper right-hand corner of the comments panel on the watch page or in YouTube Studio. When a creator Pauses comments, a notification will appear under the video, letting viewers know that all comments are paused. Existing comments will be shown.

These are the options creators are getting on YouTube:

YouTube began testing the feature back in October and now is rolling it out. Creators and moderators who tried it out found it valuable for managing comments more flexibly.
