Airpods Pro aren’t repairable

AirPods Pro

Apple’s recently announced AirPods Pro earbuds are better than successor but they are non-repairable.

iFixit has published the teardown of Apple’s latest AirPods Pro and gave it zero repairability score. It means, the AirPods Pro lacks replacement parts and there’s nothing you can do from your side if there’s anything wrong with earbuds.

Teardown reveals that the only user-replaceable part is the silicone ear-tip. But Apple uses a custom design, so you can not use the ear tip of any other third-party models. I am sure some companies will soon bring third-party tips for AirPods pro. If you want Apple’s original ear tips, you can purchase it from the Apple store.

AirPods Pro packs a watch-style battery inside each earbud. The battery cannot be replaced because it is tethered by a soldered cable.

Apple also confirmed that Apple AirPods are not repairable due to the glue which holds them together.

So, AirPods pro is a disposable product if it stops working. Once the battery dies after warranty, you can opt for the “battery service” program at a cost of $49-per-earbud. That is the only option you have.
