This new tool is called Dendroid (Android.Dendoroid). In general, meaning of Dendroid is something like tree or having branches. This new Android RAT is available via few underground hacking forums for $300.
Official seller of this RAT is known as “Soccer.” Seller of this Android RAT is also offering 24X7 support for this tool. Seller of this RAT is claiming that Dendroid offers so many features which have never been seen before in any Android RAT. These are the key features highlighted by seller:
- Delete call logs
- Call a phone number
- Open Web pages
- Record calls and audio
- Intercept text messages
- Take and upload photos and videos
- Open an application
- Initiate a HTTP flood (DoS) for a period of time
- Change the command-and-control (C&C) server
Dendroid is a HTTP RAT. It comes with a sophisticated PHP panel and application APK binder package. Use this to bind it with any app and then use the PHP panel to control the device.
This tool has capability to hide itself in any legitimate app. It can also itself from Detection by malware scanning abilities of the Google.
Dendroid is getting good feedback in underground forums. A powerful Android troan only for $300 with 24×7 is a good deal. And it has a big market there. People are willing to pay the amount for the tool.
