LG Also Announces Cloud Service For Android

Following the steps of many gadget companies, LG has also announced its own cloud based service called LG Cloud. This cloud service aims Android users and comes in beta phase. This app allow Android uses to manage or consume content on the cloud from their Android smartphone, computers or Smart Tvs. To take care of this new service, LG has also made another division in the company which will take care of the Cloud services and related offerings.

LG Cloud will come with 5GB of free storage and the ability to buy more for a fee but pricing hasn’t been detailed yet.

Recently many companies have jumped in the cloud market with their own cloud platforms. Samsung, Acer and HTC have also announced their cloud platforms. Apple and Microsoft had already in this market for few months. Google recently launched Google Drive. So there is a big competition in the market which is going to be a good benefit for the users.

LG Cloud service is mainly for storing your multimedia content on your LG Cloud account. All data stored in the account can be accessed with the help of Android app. This app will also automatically synchronizes multimedia content with your LG Cloud account and makes it available on the PC and Smart TVs. So all the content stored in your smartphone can be accessed from PC or Smart TVs. Additionally, those who own an LG branded smart TV or smartphone can receive 50GB of free storage for six months.

As i already told that the service is mainly for multimedia content, so users will be able to stream videos on their smartphones, Computers and Smart TVs from the cloud. This streaming will not download files but will use LG’s Real-time Streaming Technology that makes the video conversion to take place on the LG’s servers in real-time. All the photos of the smartphone will be available to view on Smart TV and computer.

LG Cloud service is currently in beta and accessible through – www.lgcloud.com. Users can download Android app from Google Play Store or LG SmartWorld App Store..
