Garmin has launched the CIRQA Smart Band in India, a screen-free health and fitness tracker designed for users who want continuous health monitoring without wearing a traditional smartwatch. The smart band was launched globally earlier this year and has now arrived in India with a price tag of Rs. 25,990.
The Garmin CIRQA does not have a screen. Instead, it uses an on-device button for activity tracking and connects to the Garmin Connect smartphone app, where users can view their health, sleep and fitness data. Garmin claims up to 10 days of battery life on a single charge. The band also has a 5 ATM water resistance rating and works with Android smartphones and iPhones.
The CIRQA features a fabric ComfortFit band and a fiber-reinforced polymer case. It measures 27 x 47 x 9mm and supports Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity.
The CIRQA continuously monitors heart rate and can send alerts when the user’s heart rate goes above or below specified levels. It also tracks stress, blood oxygen levels through Pulse Ox, respiration, heart rate variability (HRV) and skin temperature. Garmin’s Body Battery feature uses health and activity data to estimate energy levels and identify suitable times for activity and rest.
The smart band also supports women’s health tracking, including menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking. Its skin temperature monitoring works during sleep and can be used for period predictions and estimates of past ovulation. Users can also log caffeine and alcohol consumption through Garmin Connect and view reports on their potential impact on health. Skin temperature data can be synced with the Natural Cycles app, although this requires a Natural Cycles subscription.
For sleep, the CIRQA provides a Sleep Score, sleep-stage breakdown and advanced sleep monitoring. Sleep Coach provides personalised recommendations based on sleep requirements, while Sleep Alignment tracks circadian rhythm alignment and sleep consistency. The band can automatically detect naps and recommend suitable nap times and durations.
It also monitors breathing variations during sleep and provides HRV Status information related to recovery and training. Garmin’s Health Status feature looks for changes in health data that may indicate additional stress or a change from the user’s usual range. A Smart Wake Alarm uses vibration to wake the user at an appropriate time.
The Garmin CIRQA can automatically detect activities such as walking and running, while users can manually track more than 80 activities through Garmin Connect. Supported activities include cycling, swimming, hiking, yoga, Pilates, strength training, HIIT, rowing, racket sports, winter sports, team sports and boxing.
For training, the band offers Training Readiness, Training Status and training-load adaptation. Training Readiness provides a score based on factors such as sleep and recovery, while Training Status shows how effectively the user is training. The device also tracks VO2 Max, Fitness Age, steps, calories, Intensity Minutes, Workout Benefit and Recovery Time.
Wheelchair Mode adds daily push tracking, weight-shift alerts and support for compatible sports apps. Garmin Connect+ also provides additional workouts for wheelchair users.
The CIRQA uses the smartphone’s GPS through Connected GPS for real-time distance and pace data during outdoor walks, runs and rides. LiveTrack allows friends and family to follow the user’s location, while Broadcast Heart Rate can send heart rate data to compatible Garmin devices, including Edge cycling computers.
Garmin Connect brings together the data collected by the CIRQA and lets users review and edit automatically detected activities. The core health, sleep and fitness features are available without a subscription.
Garmin also offers an optional Garmin Connect+ subscription with additional features such as guided workouts through Live Activity, Garmin Coach training plans and personalised AI insights through Garmin Active Intelligence. It also adds meditation, mindful breathing and nutrition tracking with calorie and macronutrient monitoring, personalised recommendations and progress reports.
The CIRQA also supports Garmin’s Jet Lag Adviser, which provides guidance on light exposure, sleep schedules and exercise to help users adjust to different time zones.
