Slim smartphones usually come with one obvious compromise: battery capacity. Tecno is trying to challenge that idea with its latest phone.

The company has announced the Tecno Camon Slim 5G, which measures just 6.39mm thick but packs a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It is also the largest battery Tecno has put in one of its slim phones so far.

For comparison, the Tecno Pova Slim 5G has a 5,160mAh battery, while the earlier Camon Slim packs a 5,600mAh cell. The new model also supports 45W fast charging.

The phone does not stop at the battery. It has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel has a resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels and supports 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

Tecno Camon Slim 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16.

The phone gets a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There is also a 16-megapixel front camera.

The design is clearly another focus. The Camon Slim 5G uses Tecno’s “swan-neck curve” design with a pill-shaped rear camera module and comes in six finishes.

Some of these finishes are more interesting than the usual colour options. The Neo Mondrian version, for example, looks white under normal conditions but reveals a Mondrian-inspired pattern under ultraviolet light.

The Van Gogh Blue variant uses a gradient pattern inspired by The Starry Night. There are also Matisse Black, Burgundy Red, Gossamer White and Rebel Pink options, each with a different finish or visual treatment.

The slim body does not mean Tecno has ignored durability either. The phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual-SIM 5G.

Tecno has announced the Camon Slim 5G globally, but pricing and availability details are still under wraps.
