Meta has introduced Meta One, a new subscription service that brings additional features and AI capabilities to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. The service is aimed at individual users as well as creators and businesses.
Meta says the core experience across its apps and Meta AI will remain free. Meta One will instead offer additional features, higher AI usage and professional tools through different subscription tiers.
The company says its subscription plans are being rolled out gradually, with more than 50 features launched so far. It has recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials to date.
Meta One includes separate subscription plans for its individual apps.
Instagram Plus adds custom fonts for DMs and Stories, notifications when selected people view a Story, and DM previews. Facebook Plus adds Messenger customization, more Reels insights and expanded Super Reactions for Reels and Feed posts.
WhatsApp Plus includes exclusive themes and icons, special-effect stickers and the ability to pin more chats. Meta also plans to test chat and media backup storage and Focus Schedules, which can mute or hide chats according to a schedule.
In India, Instagram Plus costs ₹99 per month, Facebook Plus costs ₹99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus is priced at ₹79 per month.
Meta One also includes Core and Premium plans that combine the individual app features with increased access to Meta AI. The higher tiers are designed for AI features that require more computing resources. Subscribers get increased access to image generation and editing through Meta AI, video creation powered by Meta’s Muse models, and tools such as Restyle on Instagram.
Meta AI will continue to offer its basic experience without a subscription.
The Core plan costs ₹549 per month in India, while Premium costs ₹1,950 per month.
Meta is also offering Meta One plans for creators and businesses. These subscriptions add professional tools directly to the apps they already use, without requiring a separate account or app.
Subscribers can get enhanced profiles with information such as websites, locations and customer feedback. Meta is also adding a more prominent Follow button on Reels and automatic follow invitations for people who interact with content.
Business subscribers also get increased access to Meta Business Agent, which can respond to customers 24/7 on WhatsApp. Meta plans to expand the agent with capabilities covering marketing, business operations, content creation and optimization.
There are four creator and business tiers in India:
- Essential: Starts at ₹639/month
- Advanced: Starts at ₹2,099/month
- Expert: Starts at ₹6,399/month
- Max: Starts at ₹20,990/month
The higher tiers add features such as Story scheduling, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, team member access, additional linked devices and more WhatsApp broadcast credits. Expert and Max also provide higher levels of Meta Business Agent capacity for larger teams.
Meta also plans to bring Edits Plus to Meta One. It will add cloud storage for syncing projects across devices and provide more access to the upcoming Edits assistant, which can analyze Instagram insights and help users brainstorm content ideas.
Meta One plans are now available globally, although pricing, features and availability can vary by region, app and account. Users can start the subscription process within the supported Meta apps to see which plans and features are available to their account.
Meta says it will expand Meta One to more products and experiences over time, including Edits and its AI glasses.
