Apple could be preparing for a significant price increase with its upcoming iPhone 18 lineup, and its first foldable iPhone could be particularly expensive.
A leaked Vodafone Egypt listing has reportedly revealed prices for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is currently expected to be called the iPhone Ultra. The listing was spotted by Facebook user Yousif Ayman before it was taken down.
The leak reportedly showed the unannounced iPhone Ultra at EGP 155,750. For comparison, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max is listed at EGP 94,400, putting the alleged foldable roughly 65% higher.
The same leak reportedly lists the iPhone 18 Pro at EGP 98,000 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at EGP 105,000. That would represent increases of around 10% and 11%, respectively, over the corresponding iPhone 17 Pro models in Egypt.
The Egyptian pricing alone cannot be directly converted into US or Indian prices because taxes and regional pricing differ. However, the reported 65% premium over the iPhone 17 Pro Max points to a very expensive foldable.
Other leaks have also suggested a starting price around $2,000, while estimates from TrendForce put the device even higher. An Australian leak has reportedly listed the 256GB model at AU$3,700, with 512GB and 1TB versions at AU$4,200 and AU$4,700.
If these reports are accurate, Apple could position its foldable well above Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup rather than treating it as simply another iPhone variant.
The regular Pro models are expected to see a much smaller increase. TrendForce estimates that the bill of materials for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro could be about 38% higher than the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro, largely because of rising memory costs.
That does not mean Apple will pass the entire increase to customers. The company could absorb part of the additional cost to keep the retail price competitive.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable at its September 9 event. The standard iPhone 18 is reportedly being pushed to a later launch as Apple changes its iPhone release schedule.
