iQOO has officially announced the launch date for two new smartphones in China, the iQOO Neo 11 Ultra and iQOO Z11s. Both phones will be unveiled on August 18, with iQOO already revealing several key specifications and the design of the devices ahead of the launch.
There is also some naming confusion around the Neo 11 Ultra. The phone has recently appeared in reports as the iQOO Neo 11 Extreme Edition, which is a translation of its Chinese name, Neo 11 至尊版. The same device is now being referred to as the iQOO Neo 11 Ultra in newer reports and launch material. So, the Neo 11 Ultra and the previously reported Neo 11 Extreme Edition appear to be the same upcoming smartphone, rather than two separate Neo 11 models.
This is also the phone that appeared in the Geekbench listing covered in our earlier report, where its GPU configuration suggested that iQOO could be using a modified or binned version of the Dimensity 9500. The listing showed the Mali-G1-Ultra MC11 GPU with 11 cores instead of the 12-core MC12 configuration found on the standard Dimensity 9500. The CPU configuration otherwise matched the flagship chipset. We covered what this could mean for smartphone chip binning in detail earlier.
For the launch itself, iQOO is positioning the Neo 11 Ultra around a combination of flagship performance, a high-resolution display and a very large battery. The company has confirmed a 2K-resolution display and a 9,100mAh battery. iQOO is specifically highlighting the combination as a major feature of the phone, making the Neo 11 Ultra one of the most battery-focused devices in the Neo series.
The phone is also expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, although the exact GPU configuration is not something iQOO has publicly detailed yet. The earlier Geekbench listing showed 16GB of RAM and Android 16, while reports have also pointed to 100W wired charging. These details should be treated separately from the specifications iQOO has officially confirmed until the company provides the complete specification sheet.
The design of the Neo 11 Ultra has now been revealed as well. It features a horizontal, pill-shaped camera module on the rear and will be available in three colour options. One of the variants has a 3D dynamic texture on the rear panel, giving it a different look from the other finishes.
The iQOO Z11s will launch alongside the Neo 11 Ultra, but it is aimed at a different part of the market. Its biggest feature is an even larger 10,000mAh battery. iQOO says this will be its first smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery, putting battery capacity at the centre of the Z11s’ positioning.
The Z11s will also feature a 144Hz display, with iQOO promoting it for eye comfort during extended use. The phone has a square-shaped rear camera module and will be offered in Shimmering Expanse, Snowy Isle White and Ink-Rock Black colour options.
Some of the Z11s’ hardware has also appeared through leaks. A Geekbench listing for the vivo V2603A, believed to be the Z11s, showed a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, 12GB of RAM and Android 16. The device reportedly scored 1,227 points in the single-core test and 3,401 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 6.7.1. However, iQOO has yet to officially confirm the processor.
The two phones are already available for pre-reservation in China through iQOO’s official online store. The launch event is scheduled for August 18 at 7 PM China time, when the company is expected to reveal the remaining specifications and pricing.
For now, iQOO appears to be taking two different approaches with the new phones. The Neo 11 Ultra combines a 2K display, flagship-class Dimensity 9500 platform and a 9,100mAh battery, while the Z11s pushes battery capacity even further with a 10,000mAh cell and pairs it with a 144Hz display.
The August 18 launch should also clear up the remaining questions around the Neo 11 Ultra, including the exact chipset configuration, charging support, memory options and pricing.
