OPPO has launched the new Reno16 series in India, introducing the OPPO Reno16 and OPPO Reno16c smartphones. The new lineup focuses on AI-powered photography, productivity features, premium design, and large batteries. Alongside the smartphones, the company also introduced the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic smart camera accessory.
The Reno16 series comes with a new HoloVerse 3D design, ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, and a dedicated AI Snap Key that gives quick access to features such as the camera, voice recorder, translator, and AI Mind Space.
The smartphones feature an aerospace-grade aluminium frame and come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. They are available in Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple color options. The Starry White variant gets a special 3D Pop Planet design that creates a floating 3D effect on the back panel.
The OPPO Reno16 sports a 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Reno16c features a larger 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with the same 120Hz refresh rate.
The Reno16 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, while the Reno16c uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. Both phones support AI LinkBoost 4.0 for improved connectivity and AI HyperBoost 2.0 for smoother gaming performance.
The devices run ColorOS 16, which brings several AI productivity features. These include AI Mind Pilot, which combines Google Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT on one screen, AI Mind Space for storing important content, AI Bill Manager for expense tracking, AI Voice Translation, AI Live Translation, AI Scan and Extract, and AI Recording Sticker for generating recording summaries.
For photography, both smartphones feature a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto portrait camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide front camera. The Reno16 also includes a 50MP ultra-wide rear camera, while the Reno16c uses an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
The Reno16 supports 4K 60fps HDR video recording from multiple cameras. OPPO has also added several AI-powered camera features, including AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Studio, AI Remix Collage, Pop Cam, Popout 2.0, and Dual-View Video 2.0.
Both smartphones come with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. They also feature stereo speakers for an improved audio experience and support USB Type-C connectivity.
On the connectivity front, the Reno16 series offers 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C. The Reno16 also supports Wi-Fi 6, while the Reno16c comes with Wi-Fi 5. Additionally, the Reno16 includes an infrared (IR) blaster which allows users to control compatible home appliances.
The Reno16 packs a 6,700mAh battery, while the Reno16c comes with a larger 7,000mAh battery. Both smartphones support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
OPPO also introduced the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic smart camera companion with a 1.73-inch AMOLED display. It allows users to preview photos while using the rear camera for selfies and group shots. The accessory also works as a wireless remote control, packs a 550mAh battery, carries an IP54 rating, and weighs 27.5g.
OPPO Reno16 and Reno16c price in India
The OPPO Reno16 starts at Rs. 61,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 67,999.
The OPPO Reno16c starts at Rs. 46,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. The 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs. 49,999, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 55,999.
The OPPO Bubble accessory is priced at Rs. 7,999.
The Reno16 series is available for pre-order starting today and will go on sale from July 9 through Amazon, Flipkart, OPPO’s online store, and offline retail outlets.
