Canon Launches EOS R6V and RF 20–50mm F4L IS USM Lens in India

Canon EOS R6V

Canon India has launched a new professional camera kit in India featuring the EOS R6V full-frame camera and the RF 20–50mm F4L IS USM lens. The new setup is designed mainly for filmmakers, cinematographers, video creators, and hybrid content creators looking for advanced video-focused features in a compact system.

Canon also introduced #IndiaInMotion, a new creator-led initiative focused on cinematic storytelling and creative filmmaking.

The new EOS R6V comes with a video-first design and is based on the performance architecture of the Canon EOS R6 Mark III. Canon says the camera is built for hybrid workflows and long-form video production.

The camera features a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor and supports 7K Open Gate RAW as well as MP4 recording using the entire sensor area. Canon has also added a built-in cooling fan to improve recording duration during long shoots.

The EOS R6V supports up to 40fps continuous shooting using the electronic shutter along with pre-shooting support. It also includes 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization with up to 7.5 stops stabilization at the center and 7 stops at the edges for still photography.

For professional video workflows, Canon has included Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 support, Custom LUTs, waveform monitor, and 4-channel audio recording. The camera also gets a full-size HDMI Type-A port for professional setups.

Canon says the camera supports up to three times longer 7K Open Gate recording compared to the EOS R6 Mark III, making it useful for documentary filmmakers, event videographers, and long-form content creators.

The company has also launched the RF 20–50mm F4L IS USM, which becomes Canon’s first full-frame L-series lens with built-in power zoom support.

The lens offers a 20–50mm focal range with a constant f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range. It features up to 15 adjustable zoom speed levels for smooth cinematic zoom transitions.

Canon has used an internal zoom design, so the lens length does not change while zooming. The lens also supports optical image stabilization up to 6 stops, which can go up to 8 stops when combined with the camera’s IBIS system.

The RF 20–50mm lens is designed for creators who shoot wide-angle scenes, interiors, interviews, close-up shots, and social media videos. Its compact and lightweight body also makes it suitable for handheld shooting, gimbals, and travel filmmaking.

Canon says both products work together as a unified imaging system for cinematic and social-first content creation. The setup includes support for vertical shooting workflows, auto-rotating interface, power zoom integration, subject tracking stabilization, and advanced color grading workflows with LUT support.

The new Canon setup could be especially interesting for YouTubers, wedding videographers, indie filmmakers, travel creators, documentary makers, production houses, and professional social media creators who want cinema-focused features in a relatively compact mirrorless setup.

The EOS R6V and RF 20–50mm F4L IS USM lens are now available in India through Canon’s official e-Shop and authorised retail stores.
