OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Launch Date Confirmed

OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Launch Date Confirmed

OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch date of its next performance-focused phone, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra. The device will debut in China on April 28. Along with the phone, OnePlus will also launch a dedicated gaming controller designed for mobile gaming.

It is worth noting that the Ace 6 Ultra is the same device that previously leaked as the OnePlus gaming handheld. The confusion started because the earlier leaked image showed the phone with a dedicated snap-on gaming controller attached, which made it look like a portable handheld console. In reality, the controller is an accessory that connects to the smartphone and adds physical buttons, triggers, and cooling support for gaming.

The Ace 6 Ultra is part of the Ace 6 series and focuses heavily on gaming performance and high-end hardware.

The controller is built like a case that attaches to the phone and adds four physical rear buttons. It supports a high 1000Hz polling rate for faster response. It also includes ergonomic grips, a built-in gaming antenna, a bottom USB Type-C port, and support for a magnetic cooling fan.

OnePlus says the controller is designed to improve multi-finger control in games and make shooting mechanics smoother and faster.

OnePlus has also revealed new design details of the phone. The phone will come in multiple colour options, including a special Ace Awakening variant with a textured finish that shows a purple flame effect under light. Another variant, Metal Storm, will also be available.

The design uses a flat metal camera module and a heat-resistant frame. The company says the phone is built to improve grip comfort and reduce heat during long gaming sessions.

The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen is designed to meet esports-level standards for smooth gameplay.

The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. It is paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, depending on the variant.

On the camera side, the phone will feature a 50MP primary rear sensor. While the focus is clearly on performance, OnePlus is still including a capable main camera for everyday use.

The device will also come with high-level durability with IP69K dust and water resistance. This is one of the highest protection ratings seen on smartphones.

The battery is one of the biggest highlights. The device packs a large 8,600mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging. Earlier reports also suggest around 100W charging support in some configurations.

OnePlus is clearly positioning the Ace 6 Ultra as a gaming-first smartphone. The company says the new controller improves control precision, aiming, and response speed, making complex in-game actions easier to perform.

So, it will be interesting to see if it manages to impress gamers.
