Elon Musk, CEO of microblogging platform X, has announced the X TV app for Android TVs in beta. The app brings a wide range of video content to Android smartTVs including LG, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV devices.
X TV app aims to offer a video streaming service and bring the X experience directly to your television screen. Users can access several live channels, including news, sports, movies, and music. There’s also on-demand content of pre-recorded content. Users can also record and save their favorite shows for later viewing. The app also lets users connect their X account to access their X timeline on the smart TV screen.

At this moment, it only seems the expansion of X to bring the video experience to the big screen. But Elon Musk Maus may have ambitious plans to make it a full-fledged streaming service to compete against Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+.
X lets Premium subscribers upload videos up to 4 hours long (1080p) on the web and iOS. Android users are limited to 10-minute videos. If you are not a premium subscriber, you can upload videos up to 140 seconds long. Now that the company is positioning itself in the video segment, it should allow users to upload higher-quality videos.
