Google just introduced its latest Pixel 8 series that includes Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro at the Made by Google Event. These phones come with several generative AI features and support for on-demand summaries, translations, and read-aloud features for articles. In this detailed article, I will talk about all the features and specs of these phones.
Before I talk about specifications, let’s have a look at the AI features of these phones. Google Assistant makes these phones smarter than other competitors. You can quickly summarize website text, get a breakdown of the page content, or get content in bullet points. These are the same things you can do with Bard. Assistant can now translate text into various languages and can also read out loud if you want. You also get playback-speed controls and 10-second skip buttons to save you time.
The company has also improved the Call screen. On the call screen, you get several potential responses for users to choose from while the Assistant carries the conversation in the background. Now Google Assistant sounds more natural while talking with callers.
The recorder app is also getting generative AI features. It can now provide high-level summaries of captured content.
Assistant can now also better understand users when they are speaking across different languages. It also now allows users to compose messages twice as fast using their voice.
Both phones run Android 14 out of the box. The company promises 7 years of OS upgrades along with security updates.
