Popular secure messaging service Telegram has introduced end-to-end encrypted video calls on its platform. For now, there’s only one-on-one video calls and group videos calls will be also be added soon.
All calls are end-to-end encrypted. You can verify that with your chat partner through four emojis shown on your screen. If you want to learn about the encryption method used by Telegram, see this page.

“All video calls are protected with end-to-end encryption. To confirm your connection, compare the four emoji shown on-screen for you and your chat partner – if they match, your call is 100% secured by time-tested encryption also used in Telegram’s Secret Chats and Voice Calls,” Telegram said in a statement.
Video calls on Telegram works similar to any other video calling app. Just open the app, tap on the user profile and then tap on video call option.
The feature is now available in alpha mode on its Android app and iOS users will have to wait for a while. The company also says that it submitted the version of Telegram with video calls on the Apple App Store before it submitted on Google Play Store. But Apple has yet to approve the app.
Telegram has more than 400 million users all over the world and most users prefer it because of privacy reasons.
