Digitek DBE-008 Review

Digitek DBE-008 is a neckband style earphone. The neckband is made of rubber with plastic ends. The right plastic end has three buttons along with a micro USB port for charging. The center button is to turn it on. The same button is used to play or pause music and receiver or end call. + button is for increasing the volume and skipping to next track on long press. It also has a tiny notification LED. The – button is for volume down and skipping to the previous track. There are two tiny holes after the button that I guess is for the microphone.

Ear tips are connected to neckband via a flat wire. The flat wire doesn’t tangle and is of good quality. The magnetic lock keeps ear tips together. Earbuds make an angle to fit in ears properly. It fits properly and ear tips do not automatically slip out even while running. So you can use it while running and doing exercise, but avoid using it if you sweat too much. The earphone doesn’t come with any IP rating, so it is not sweatproof.

The earphone is comfortable and is light in weight. Build quality looks good, but the lack of IP rating is a downside.

Tech Specs

  • Bluetooth Version: V 5.0
  • Drivers: 10mm
  • Output Power: 3mW x 2
  • Working Distance: 10 Meter
  • Charging Voltage: DC 5V/110mA
  • Sensitivity: 110dB/mW
  • Impedance: 32 Ohms
  • Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20KHz
  • Battery Capacity: 280mAh

It has two 10mm drivers rated for 3mW output power. This earphone impresses with its music experience. It offers loud and good music with punchy bass. Sound is clear and remains comfortable for listing even at the loudest volume. The sound is generally natural. I tried a range of music and even used it to watch a movie. It sounds good and is worthy to recommend. It also claims noise cancellation and fulfills its promise. The noise around you won’t interrupt your experience.

Another good thing is that it doesn’t leak sound, so a person sitting close to you can’t figure out what you are listing to.

It has a microphone, so you can use it for hands-free calls. Microphone does a good job and another person on call will get your proper voice but with the noise around you. So, the experience of the hands-free call is also fine.

It features Bluetooth 5.0 to connect with smartphones and other devices. It can remain connected with two devices at the same time.

It packs 280 mAh battery and claims 25 hours of battery. In our testing, the battery lasts for around 17 hours in full volume usage. It could easily offer over 20 hours if you listen to lower volume. It takes around 3 hours in charging from 0 to 100%.

Digitek DBE 008 is priced at Rs. 1495 but it is available at Rs. 1299. Considering its price segment, I am impressed with its music experience and battery life both. Build quality also feels good but lack of IP rating is a downside. In this segment, there are a few Bluetooth earphones including Mi Sports Bluetooth Earphones offering IP rating. But Digitek DBE 008 is slightly better in terms of music. If you are looking for an earphone that you will be using during workouts, you may look for an alternate with an IP rating to be on the safer side. Otherwise, Digitek DBE 008 is a good one offering good music and great battery life.
