OnePlus has officially introduced OxygenOS 15 with a promise to provide a clean, fast, and snappy experience. OxygenOS 15 comes with a host of new features, improved UI, and AI features. In this detailed article, I am adding all the features added to OxygenOS 15.
Design Improvements
The new design is the most notable thing in OxygenOS 15. OnePlus has made several changes to make it look better and also perform well. There are new icons for default apps such as Calculator, Clock, Photos, Settings, Weather, and Recorder. Users can still customize the app icons. There are now two more themes – Radiance and Shadow. The notification and settings page has been changed a bit. You can now split it into two separate pages.
There are also new Shelf Cards. Third-party apps can also be added to Shelf. The company has also added ‘shimmering’ to interfaces for unlocking, app installations, and charging.
Users can now apply a style filter to the wallpaper and can also add a blur filter to their wallpaper. The company has also added a few more default wallpapers in OxygenOS. Some of the live wallpapers are now available in HDR.
Lockscreen can also be customized. It lets you change clock fonts, sizes, and colors. Also. Lockscreen can also add filters to look better.
It also comes with a more comprehensive Dark Mode that covers more system apps and settings for a consistent experience in low-light environments.

Fast and Smooth Experience
OxygenOS 15 gets parallel processing that claims to be for improved performance. Now animations can run in parallel which results in less visible animation stutters and a more responsive interface. Animations and transitions are smoother and more responsive. Apps can be opened in floating windows for improved multitasking. It also allows users to easily switch between tasks. OnePlus has also added new gesture controls for navigation.
OxygenOS 15 also uses less storage space compared to previous versions. So, users will have more free space for their data.
AI-Powered Features
Now that AI features are trending, OnePlus has also added a few notable AI features to Oxygen OS 15. Here’s a list of AI-Powered features coming to OxygenOS 15.
- AI Detail Boost: This feature automatically enhances low-resolution or cropped images to transform them into higher-quality visuals.
- AI Unblur: Blurry photos can be automatically sharpened and restored to a clearer state.
- AI Reflection Eraser: Reflections in photos can be easily removed with a single tap.
- AI-Powered Voice Transcription: Dictated notes and meeting minutes can be automatically transcribed, with the option to remove filler words and pauses.
- AI-Generated Summaries: AI can generate concise summaries of longer texts, such as articles or meeting notes.
- Intelligent Search: This AI-powered search can search across apps like Settings, Files, and Notes using natural language processing.
- Circle to search: Circle to search is also making its way to Onelus devices.
- Pass Scan: It enables users to quickly scan paper or digital boarding passes
Cross-Platform File Sharing
OxygenOS 15 also comes with a Cross-Platform File Sharing feature that lets OnePlus users easily share files with iPhone users through the “O+Connect” app. However, you need to download the O+ Connect app on iPhones to use this feature.
Enhanced privacy and security
OxygenOS 15 can leverage Google Play Protect for live threat detection. It also supports a theft protection feature to automatically lock the device when it detects that someone stole the phone. It also lets users remotely lock the phone enabling offline protection.
Oxygen OS 15 rollout and timeline
OxygenOS rollout begins on October 30th for OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. Later it will be available to other OnePlus phones.
